-RO-TAP® Electromagnetic E Pure: 3D sieving motion created by an electromagnetic drive. It offers two settings for sieving: coarse and fine.

CISA electromagnetic BA200N sieve shaker, small and compact, for particle size analysis with Ø 60, 75, 100, 150, 200, and 203 mm sieves. It incorporates the latest continuous and intermittent sieving technology and a system that adjusts vibration depending on the number of sieves, plus digital control of amplitude and sieving time.

The RX-29/RX-30 single-stack tapping units operate with 8 and 12-inch sieves, while the RX-812 oscillating shaker and the RX-94 double-stack tapping machine specialize in 8-inch sieves, providing versatile configurations for diverse particle size applications.
Noise These electromagnetic shakers are not as noisy as the mechanical units, as electromagnetic units use a vibratory motion to shake particles through the sieve stack instead of the tapping and gears of mechanical units. All electromagnetic units operate at a noise level below 70 dB.

The mechanical RO-TAP models use a tapping and rotating motion to separate particles.

For customers working in very small labs with many people around, the 85 dB noise level caused partly by the tapping motion may be a concern in these situations.

Footprint These electromagnetic units feature compact dimensions, optimizing available laboratory space. Electromagnetic units operate with a footprint of approximately 14" wide x 12" deep x 37" high, with a mass of 80 lbs, allowing installation on work surfaces with space constraints. The footprint of mechanical units significantly exceeds that of electromagnetic units. The RO-TAP sieve shaker model RX-29, the benchmark unit in the mechanical series, has dimensions of 28" wide × 21" deep × 25" high with a mass of 170 lbs. Space requirements increase substantially when integrating a soundproof cabinet, considerably expanding the operational envelope in laboratory spaces.
Easy to use The RO-TAP E Premium model allows for parameterizing the particle size separation process through the adjustment of vibration amplitude and controlled pause cycles, facilitating particle sedimentation through the sieve stack. Premium models, including the BA200N, have memory to store specific configuration profiles according to the material's rheological properties, optimizing repetitive test protocols.

Mechanical sieving equipment is characterized by its straightforward operation: after selecting standardized sieves according to the required particle size specifications, the user configures test time parameters via a manual control interface. The operating procedure is reduced to activating and monitoring the cycle. After executing the sieving protocol, the operator must perform a terminal particle size analysis to establish the optimal test time using the sieving end-point methodology, thus determining the appropriate duration to ensure fully developed stratification and separation of the sample through the sieve stack.
Maintenance

Electromagnetic sieving equipment features an electromagnetic drive architecture with a modular configuration, eliminating traditional gear systems. This structural simplification significantly reduces the number of critical moving components, minimizing points of wear and mechanical friction. In operational practice, users report a practically zero incidence of corrective events, reflecting the inherent robustness of the electromagnetic design versus conventional mechanical systems.

Mechanical sieve shakers integrate more than 60 precision components that work together to generate the oscillating and rotating motion required for the stratification and particle size classification of materials through standardized sieve stacks.
